If you are out of work, or if you are contemplating a career move, you are probably facing this dilemma: to stay within your current industry or to move on. If the sector you are (or were) in is severely affected by current economic conditions, chances are you are looking to try yourself elsewhere.
Well, where else can you earn your keep? A recent development in Southern California provides a valuable insight. There seem to be two sure ways of making money. Before they are named, please watch the following video:
Southern California Money Making
Well, folks, there you have it! The answer to today’s question of “where should I apply myself after I lost my job in [...] industry” can be answered by:
1) Become a lawyer, or
2) Sue someone
Becoming a lawyer is an expensive proposition. It takes years of law school (you have to be accepted into a good one too!). You have to take the BAR exam. You have to slave off in a law firm, running errands and taking crappy cases, before you finally become a partner. All said and done, you are looking at several hundred thousand dollars out of pocket, before you get anything in. And you will have spent over 10 years of your life. Not the road to success one would want.
Suing someone. Now, that’s a sure winner! It requires no education, no out-of-pocket expenses (well, in the case presented in the video, one had to purchase a few meals. But meals are required for nutrition, so money would have been invested into sustenance one way or another). All you need is a scumbag, to come up with a sleazy idea, a dirtbag of an accomplice, and a sleazebag lawyer, to take the matter to court.
All joking aside, this is what’s wrong with the world today. People want to get rich quick. People have a false sense of entitlement. And until it disappears from the culture, we will continue on the downward spiral of becoming even more demoralized, brainwashed, and lazy. Wake up! The world owes you nothing!
